After a break of three years: Brettorf and Schneverdingen celebrate dm titles

Three years of waiting were then clearly enough: for the first time since 2019, the fistballers awarded German championship titles again under the indoor roof in the youth last weekend. First, TV Brettorf (male U14) put on the national crown in Rosenheim, shortly followed by the U14 girls of TV Jahn Schneverdingen in Fredenbeck.

Male U14

SC DHfK Leipzig continues its success story in Rosenheim. Five years ago, the fistball department was founded at SC DHfK Leipzig, and now the Leipzig team has reached the finals of the German championship for the first time. It has not yet been enough for the title. But with the motivation and consistency, as the team was coached by Julian Scharf and Tom Dübel, the SC DHfK Leipzig has arrived at the top teams in the German youth field, reported

After the long DM break under the indoor roof, the championship in Rosenheim, including the spectators, was finally full of atmosphere again - also because there were many close results and some surprises, especially on the second day. In the two quarter-final matches, the third-placed teams from the preliminary round, Hammer SC 08 and SC DHfK Leipzig, prevailed against the group runners-up in each case. And when Leipzig also defeated the group winners of the preliminary round, the hosts and reigning German field champions MTV Rosenheim 2-1, the next surprise was perfect.

TV Brettorf, meanwhile, beat its rivals in a commanding fashion. The North Germans completed the preliminary round without losing a set and were really put to the test for the first time by Hammer SC 08 in the semifinals. But after a set deficit, the Black and Whites secured their place in the final with a 2-1 win.

In the final they faced: TV Brettorf and SC DHfK Leipzig, or: the favorite against the newcomer. The favorite was already leading 10:6 in the first set, then it was suddenly 10:11. But with 15:13 the Brettorfer turned the set around again. After that, Leipzig was out of steam and Brettorf clinched the championship in the second set 11:1. The bronze medal went to host MTV Rosenheim.

Female U14

The women had done it just two weeks earlier, but the U14 fistballers of TV Jahn Schneverdingen in Fredenbeck did not expect a similar feat. In the preliminary round, the Heidschnucken had also had to admit defeat against host TSV Essel and had thus gone into the qualifying match on Sunday as group runners-up. Here, the team proved its nerve against TV Unterhaugstett for the first time, turning a 0:1 deficit into a 2:1 victory - the prelude to a brilliant DM final day. Schneverdingen also beat Ahlhorner SV in the semifinals (11:5, 9:11, 11:8). In the final, the team met Ohligser TV.

Ohligser TV had also finished second in the group, defeating VfL Kellinghusen (11:4, 11:9) in the quarterfinals and TSV Essel (11:2, 11:9) in the semifinals. In the final, Ohligs and Schneverdingen delivered a gripping exchange of blows, in which the team from Lower Saxony had the better nerves and crowned itself with the German championship title with 12:10 and 11:8. This was the sixth time in a row that an NTB team won the female U14 indoor title, for Schneverdingen it was the first since 2016. The bronze medal was won by Ahlhorner SV, who prevailed in the match for third place against TSV Essel (11:9, 11:5).
